10 x 10 project

Titled: Time and Place

Today we randomly picked out one little square from a single area in Balham. My square was area 28, which had part of the train platform and part of the Sainsbury's car park. I started off by taking normal photos of the area and decided that its not exciting and so I use my iPhone app to make a 360 panorama and so with a single spin I collected each objects in plain sight in those random spots and then I easily converted the 360 panorama in a stereographic view, which basically makes the 360 panorama into a complete circle which you can't spin around to see the complete image. After that I decided to make a mixed media series of four for the outcome.
This is the app that made me see by Stereographic from the 360 Panorama. It's a free app on the app store called 360 PANORAMA. It's really good and easy to use and it also allows you to upload and share with other users.

These two photos are the first two that I knocked out for the first of the mixed media series. After getting feedback I decided to work on with the fine liner because it's interesting because everything is connected in such a small image. These two images were just a tad bigger than an A4. After finding a board, I checked if it would stand out in front of the black and so I thought it did, so I painted the board black and resized the drawings to a size A5, in which I produced a series of 18 continuous fine liner drawings of my area.

Series of 18 later and this is what my final outcome looked like on the black board. Each image took roughly 15 minutes because I had to draw out the circle and draw out the lines where the buildings and objects should be, once I did that I quickly did it as is of course a continuous line drawing.

The film iRobot inspired me to use the devices that I have on me to use with my art because of the photos below showing the movie, at one point the only robot has a dream, where theres a person on a hill next to the broken down bridge with many other robots looking at him, the robot assumed that the person on the hill was the character played by Will Smith and so it turns out it was actually the robot. but at the scene when the robot was drawing the image was very futuristic because it was so fast and so accurate with the single vertical and horizontal lines and the layering of the lines making tone creating these human figures and all sorts. The photo of the robotic arm gives me an idea were as of one day in the future there will be people with robotic arms from torn off limbs are the unexpected birth of having three or two limbs etc, that can draw like the robot in the movie. Since people are making apps every day, it always gives me that idea of using my iPhone to another level of being what it is.

Gallery visit

We unexpectedly went to a gallery today because it was the last day of it and it was worth the travel because there was some paintings and drawings that stood out for me and it gave me ideas on what I should do with my outcome. The artist that I will be relating my work to is Michel Mossessian, Hybrid Hole. This piece is so creative in my mind because it lets the viewers think where the buildings are. To me it's the beautiful vision of a human eye level and looking out to the top of the buildings searching out for something
